PEC-PG
The Graduate Student Exchange Program (PEC-PG) is an international cooperation initiative that attracts foreign students to Brazil and encourages the exchange of knowledge among partner countries, while simultaneously benefiting Brazilian institutions through the interaction of students and faculty with qualified researchers working abroad.
A joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), and the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), the programme offers scholarships for foreign researchers to pursue Doctoral (full and sandwich) and Master’s degrees in Brazilian Graduate Programmes across different fields.
Types of scholarships and benefits
Types:
- Full Doctorate in Brazil
- Sandwich Doctorate in Brazil
- Full Master’s in Brazil
Benefits:
- Monthly stipend
- Health insurance allowance
- Round-trip airfare Brazil – abroad (funded by MRE)
Duration of scholarships:
- I – Sandwich Doctorate: between 6 (six) and 10 (ten) months
- II – Full Doctorate: up to 48 (forty-eight) months
- III – Full Master’s: up to 24 (twenty-four) months
Application
- Applications are free of charge and must be submitted directly on the programme’s website by completing the application form and uploading the required documents, as specified in the call for applications.
- After submission, each applicant will immediately receive a confirmation email at the address provided in the form.
- Submission of an application implies acknowledgement and acceptance of the rules and conditions set out in each call, regarding which ignorance cannot be claimed.
